was given a rack mountable solid state recorder and already have an apogee ensemble

I was given a mint marantz pmd 570 solid state recorder that apparently records onto compact flash cards.I already own a apogee ensemble.I can connect the two via analog or spdif but im not shure besides transferring my recordings to flash what to use the solid state recorder for.Can anyone help me out?

Oh, I guess I'll carry on looking around here. I'm in Britain. It appears to be discontinued. These days you can get many more inputs in a brand new unit for less.
