Delta 44 Question.

If I get the delta 44, will it work as my default soundcard for normal things like explorer? I would prefer a dedicated system, where I wouldn't have to worry about explorer, but that is out of the question right now.

So please explain to me the best way to set up the souncard(s). If it doesn't do the everyday stuff, can I just leave my generic card in for that stuff and install both?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it will work at your defaut soundcard just like your current soundcard.

Yes you can run both soundcards in the same machine but for the Delta 44 you need an open PCI card slot.

You can switch back and forth between the sound cards through Control Panel > Multimedia Preferences > Audio tab.

I play games through my Delta44 all the time. The only one that I had a problem with sound-wise was Deus Ex, lots of clicking and popping, so I'd just switch to my old soundcard as Whyte Ice mentioned. Most other games & applications work just fine (Q3A, UT, D2, SSam, & all windows apps). I'm doing this on Win2k, so I'd assume it should work on 9x as well.
