Zip drive files to PC

Are you talking about the old IOmega's? If that is the case, if you can get the drive to show in Windows, then most likely, if they were formatted in a DOS format, you can copy them over.

I am 99% sure the IOMegas formatted to DOS, but I am not sure about the Fostex what format they used.

Some searching through the FD-8 manual I found......

"The FD-8’s recorder section uses a recording format called
FDMS-3 (Fostex Disk Management System-3). It uses an
external SCSI device (stationary disk or removable disk)
as the recording media."

With some Googling I found the FDMS-3 appears to be in a format of raw data, which even if you could get it into a PC, may not be usable in that format without some means to convert it.

Further Googling found........ FDMS2Tools which appears be a utility someone was developing to convert 'Fostex Disk Manager System V2.0' raw data to possibly a wav format. It's unlikely this conversion tool would work for the FDMS-3 FD-8 files.

This may be worth a read...
