[SOLVED] Windows Update

So I'm recording a sort of big project in Reaper. I've been working on it for awhile now. I had just spent about an hour tweaking EQ/levels/etc. on the song and forgot to save.

Up pops up this fucking thing saying "Updates have been installed for your computer" and it restarts my computer.

The thing that pisses me off is that not only did it not ask me, but I had disabled automatic updates twice already!!

Fuck. I should have saved, but still...

Not having a go or anything, but are you sure?

Other than explicitly stated in group policy, I've never heard or seen a computer restarting automatically after Windows Updates. You sure you didn't click the 'restart now' button having not realised the window had popped up?

Anyway, I hear your pain mate. Save, save and save again!

ever consider turning off automatic updates? To allow it to download, install, and restart is an option you set manually at some point
