Using Backing Tracks With Boss BR900CD

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me...

I recently bought a Boss BR900CD with the express purpose of recording guitar with backing tracks. I had some success with a BR600 and BR Micro some years ago, but am struggling to load .WAV file backing tracks (not drum tracks) in songs using the TONELOAD fucntion.

It worked OK the first time I tried it, but I've had no luck since.

I should point out that I'm not using USB connectivity as my laptop is Windows 10 and doesn't recognise the BR900CD. Instead, I'm copying the .WAVs onto the Micro SD card from the laptop.

Here's the process I'm going through ...

1. Start up the machines
2. Select song
3. Select the track usuing the buttons (usually track 1)
5. Press 'Utility'
5. Scroll to 'TONE', press 'Enter'
6. Select 'CARD'. press 'Enter'
7. Scroll to desired .WAV, press 'Enter'

... that's when it asks me to 'SELECT TARGT KIT' ('s1:SongKit1')

The first time I tried, it loaded the .WAV into the track and I was good to go, since then, I get the same message.

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks

Many years ago I used a BR-864 and would just record the backers using the built in mic.
It worked out great for jamming/practice purposes. YMMV.

As you've posted in a subforum specifically for people NOT using portable recording devices but computers, you might be lucky to get a response. Try the BOSS subforum below.
