Sound overload, what do i need to upgrade

Hey guys,
Looking for some advice here. I recently had problems when recording because I had a small amount of latency, my buffer size was set to 10. I lowered that to 1 and I am now able to record in time much better. I record guitars through guitar rig 5 so I need to be able to monitor the guitar sound while I am playing and recording. However since lowering buffer size to 1 my sound will crash. Can someone help explain what the cause of this is. Is it lack of ram or cpu power?

I am using Cubase 8, I have an amd fx-6300 processor with 8gbs of ram.
Thanks.

Thanks Jimmy!

I have a PC with an AMD 6300 6core CPU and 6G of ram, not done a lot "musical" with it but I could run some tests? I have Cubase Elements 6, could see how the test tracks do?

That video was MOST illuminating James! I get the "probably not the CPU" point but OP might check that Cubase is using all six cores?

Dave.
