sound card advise

i have 2 questions

first why am i getting mad static when i record from my turntables to to my PC using vegas?

second i am looking to upgrade my sound card i will be recording from my mixer (djm600) would like at least one input for a mic eventually i will be doing my mixing on my pc which i was told required 2 soundcards for headphoone mixes. but i do need the HIGHEST sound quality right off the bat i do not want to upgrade later so money isn't that big of an issue. let me know what you guys think ^_^

Does the turntable have a built in preamp or are you going through a recievers line out?
Are you running the turntable or recievers rca connectors into a 1/8" adapter and then into the souncard?
And....does the turntable have a ground?
 
i belive my mixer has the pre amps i am using the record output on my mixer to the 1/8 mic input on my sound card, and yes it has a ground
