Sony Digital Recorder + Peavey microphone

Hello every one,
Can someone tell me whether I will be able to plug a PV®i 100 XLR microphone to my Digital Recorder, which is a Sony ICD-PX240? The recorder has a mini jack input, while the mic has a jack output. Will the mic work OK with a jack > minijack adapter?

EDIT: Actually, will any JACK microphone work.

This cable "might" work>>> Amazon.com: Hosa XVM-115F Microphone Cable, XLR3F to Right-Angle 3.5 mm TRS - 15 ft.: Electronics

I have this cable I use with the stereo mic input on a camcorder. The cable is wired to take the mono output of a mic and put it to both the left and right channels of a TRS jack on the camcorder. Your recorder has a similar TRS stereo mic jack. It might work or it might not and the cable is cheap money to find out.

EDIT: Actually, will any JACK microphone work.
Nope, will not work with a condenser mic that would need phantom power.
