sb live s/pdif vs. pro card s/pdif?

DAB

i currently own a tascam tm-d1000 mixer so i do not need a card with alot of inputs.

1)are there differences in the quality of sound you'll get in a sb spdif vs a pro card spdif?

2)is a sb live spdif input more than 16 bit?

i am just looking for a good, relatively cheap way to get one channel of audio into my computer

3)taking my situation....what would you do?($300)

i was gonna go with a gina but found out my amd k6 wont jive with it

i also like the midi capabilities of the sb

PPLLEEAASSEE HHEELLPP!!

thanx in advance

Oops! Sorry DAB, I just looked over there (TASCAM bbs)and I guess you are already asking that question.
Unless there are two DAB's in this world with the same equipment and the same questions! That would be spooky.

I dont know about the cards.. but the spidif on your mixer only sends a 20 bit signal, Ive heard.

Don't think that's quite so. The TMD 1000 should be compatible with the S/PDIF in on the card. The card is 16 bit, and its MIDI capabilities are way ahead of its audio talent.

You doing cable TV cabling?

I'd stick with this until I heard something I didn't like. Then see what is hot at the time.
