recording in reaper with revalver or amplitube

Hello All,
I am trying to run Revalver or Amplitube stand alone at this time.
The only way for me to monitor while playing is with headphones.
I use my PV6USB mixer as my interface but whenever I try to use my studio monitors I cannot raise the
volume slider without feedback through the speakers. If i were to use an audio usb interface for input and
use the mixer for output would that take away the feedback issue?
Thank you in advance,
Jeff

If you have an audio interface, why would you still need the mixer?

In general, you monitor through headphones when recording, and only use the speakers when mixing, anyway.

Thank you Keith.
I have been trying to get some different tones with some new Revalver and Amplitube models so I can record.
I have been using the headphones when recording, but was trying to use the stand alone sims without the headphones.
I dont have an Audio Interface as of yet, though.been using a mixer channel for input.
I'm pulling the trigger on a Focusrite interface today.
Jeff

A speaker is a speaker, you cant point an electric guitar straight at it without feeding back much like a guitar amp. Turn guitar 90 degrees to drivers.
