Recording a mix and i'm getting sh*tloads of noise, cannot find the source

An issue as using my laptop without the power cuts out the noise.

I would like your thoughts on an external soundcard for my laptop please

The other solution is to plug one of the devices into a three prong outlet (grounded), and the other into a two prong outlet, using an adapter if you need it (ungrounded). Doesn't always work though.

NEVER DEFEAT POWER GROUNDS. It's dangerous. People die. You can do it for years without incident then change one little thing and kill someone.

There is probably a solution related to grounding, but lifting power grounds is not the way to go.

You aren't defeating the ground, you are using a different ground than the ground the computer is using.

The adapter has a metal ring that grounds it to the screw in the faceplate of the outlet, instead of the wiring inside the outlet. They are commonly used for Audio, with no issue.

If, however, you think you can't take care of your equipment properly, there is a little piece of hardware for about 10-15$ at guitar center that will fix the issue.

guys no need to worry about the power or noise anymore, i found a solution by not plugging in the laptop power

I need help on choosing an external interface to record my dj mixes
