Not to dredge up old stuff but.. I found this old thread from June 2016 in a search for interface stuff and would like to know if the problem was ever resolved. The last reply just left it hanging. I'll be installing a similar interface this week (hopefully) and am trying to prepare for any problems that may arise. Thanks.
 
It shouldn't actually be an issue at all as long as your machine and OS meet the minimum requirements for the interface and you follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation. Often, they want you to run their software before you plug in the hardware, and if you get all exited and plug the thing in and start just clicking OK it'll go wonky. Read the instructions that come with the interface thoroughly!

Then it's easy. Just tell Reaper to use the ASIO driver for your interface via Options|Preferences|Audio|Devices. Select the range of its I/O that you want to use. Rock.
