ProTools trash files

I´m getting out of hard disk space because of the LARGE
ProTools project files with all that non-destructive stuff.
I´ve found out that after recording things over and over the
old files are still there, useless, unless you need to undo some thing. I´ve erased some wav files manually but every time I open
my session I recieve that "locate file" message and keep skipping
them all. Is there any command or function that cleans up the
dead old stuff from a ProTools session?

Thanks.

If you delete the audio files but still have regions in your Audio Regions List that used those files as references, you'll get the "Locate file" message.

To erase the regions that you don't use in your session, go to the Audio Regions List pop-up menu, choose "Select Unused". Next choose if it should select only regions or regions that are made up from a whole file (that's the one's in bold typing in the Audio Regions List).

Check so it hasn't selected anything you want to keep. Open the Audio Regions List pop-up again, choose "Clear Selected". Go through the dialogue and you should be able to get the regions removed and/or files deleted.

Hope this helps,

micmac
