I ran aross this dynamic eq VST plugin the other day
IQ4gui - dynamic EQ
A problem I've run into with it is that if you're previewing a file or a chunk of a file it doesn't start from a zero point, it picks up from wherever you quit when you last previewed the file - if where you quit happened to be at a particularly high peak, that's the level of "clamp down" you start at when previewing again or processing which means you don't get consistent results whenever you preview or process.
I tried staring from a section of silence to allow the faders to return to 0 but there also doesn't seem to be any look ahead function, so the initial attack is peaky doing it that way.
Is it just a poorly designed plugin or is this the way all dynamic eq plugins are? It's donationware, I'd be happy to donate if it worked well.
