powered monitors question

Hello,

My stereo amp just quit on me and is in the shop. I'm considering my options just in case they call to tell me it's going to cost more than it's worth to fix.

If I purchased a pair of powered monitors would it be possible to use them as speakers for my CD player etc. as well PC monitors?

I'm imagining a kind of patch bay where I could switch audio sources.

Is this possible?

Yes!!

Of course!!
I sure most powered monitors have 1/4 jacks and rca plugs.
Your cd's will also sound much better through the monitors.

Thanks...I've never really looked at any powered monitors so I wasn't sure what kind of hookups came standard.

RCA connectors aren't common on active monitors I've seen. Usually just XLR and TRS. Adaptors work well though
