An old Mac & no $$$ - what chance?

Hi all.

I do my recording onto my Korg D8 (digital all-in-one 8 track) and don't really have anything more than an old cassette recorder at the moment to mix down to. (You can mixdown to a stereo pair on the Korg ... you know...)
So, a CD recorder (like Phillips) seems to be the go for most D8 users to mixdown and 'back-up' to; but I just aint got the bucks... (about $1,000 Australian.)
What I do got is my ol' Mac Quadra 660 and access to CDR's at work.
Is there a soundcard / software duo that would go with my mac so I could 'back-up' my 8 tracks (in 2 track L/R pairs), separate them and synch them back into 8 separate tracks and burn 'em to CD?
Know wha' I mean?
(I've read of a guy that does this with Win'95 and Cool Edit'96)
I'm trying to spend as little as poss.
BTW: the Korg has optical S/Pdif in & out and analogue out.

thanx
