no output, using mpu401 driver

please help,i've motherboard with the 810chipset on it,and i cann't any playback to my keyboards,i have no trouble inputing using the joystick port, just no output.i can using the windows synth,but sounds are crap and it's killing me not been able to hear my toons through my keyboards,has any one the same prob? or have got it working using the 810chipset

What sequencing software are you using on your computer?
I'm assuming you are using a gameport to midi in/out adapter. That's how I started out using a cheap Montega sound card. I was using Cakewalk to record and playback
sequences from my DR-202 groove box. In Cakewalk, go to
Tools->Midi Devices and select the MPU401 output driver
as the output device. I'm not sure if that's your problem.
What is the 810chipset? Is that Mac or PC?
