newbie recording question: Recording from our church mixer

Can anyone provide me with advice on the best way to record the sermons at our church for use on our website?

The microphone from the pulpit feeds into a Eurorack MX 2004A mixer, located about 40 feet away.

What is the best way to connect a small recording device to this mixer, and can you recommend a reasonably low priced recorder that can be started and stopped remotely (preferable from the pulpit wirelessly)

Or do you think we would do better with a small portable device simply placed on the pulpit?
If so what do you recommend?

I appreciate any advice you can provide.

There are lots of portable recorders out there. Connect the mixer's 2-Track Out to the recorder, set it to record a good quality .wav file, set the levels conservatively and hit record. Let it record the whole thing without stopping/starting it. Transfer the files to a computer and edit the recording after the fact, taking out the parts you don't want. Then convert to .mp3. Save the original .wav file and the edited master .wav file.
