New and Need Help,Suggestions...

My wife and i would like to make some home recordings and would like some advice/suggestions on what equipment we would need to put a system together to record our voices together with a separate music source (CD)?
 
Read all the sticky threads at the top of the Newbies section of this forum, for a start.
Then come back and ask more specific questions (also in the newbies section).
You'll need:
Microphone(s), stand(s), cable(s)
Audio interface with mic preamp(s)
Headphones, monitors
DAW (recording software)
Patience and time to learn how to use it all!
