New interface

Looking to upgrade from my Presonus firestudio project.

I'm running on Windows 10, Cubase 8. Would prefer something by universal audio but all the newer stuff is thunderbolt. Can't justify getting a Mac or spending a shed load on a hi spec pc.

What does everyone recommend?
 
I love my Steinberg UR824's. Integrates great with Cubase. You can use the interfaces DSP effects from within Cubase.
 
Honestly, your question is a bit open ended to get responses that are specific to your situation. Help us out by telling us what kind of ports your PC has, how many mic pres you want/need, and your budget.

If you don't have Thunderbolt, then that makes it easy - don't get something with that. There are lots of USB 2.0 interfaces still out there in a wide range of prices, depending on manufacturer, how many mic pres, etc. I'd just filter at the online sites based on your criteria, look over the results, pick a few with a lot of good reviews, and then start to narrow down.
