New Delta breakout box for Delta cards

Another fyi for Delta owners,

while stumbling on the new drivers I also noticed that M Audio has an optional front-end box for the Delta 44 and 66 -- it's got preamps and some mixing/routing flexibility the regular breakout box doesn't have... $299 list. I wonder if they'll sell the box and the PCI card as a separate product line, so you don't have to buy a Delta 44 or 66 and waste the older breakout box?

Probably not -- I think it's M Audio's answer to the all-in-one hardware things like the SeaSound SoloEX, Aardvark Direct Pro, Echo Mona, and Digidesign Digi001. If you have no equipment and want to get something to record on a PC, this is now another choice along with those products. But if you've already got a mixer, preamps, etc., it's extraneous.
