Need Serious Help! With Buying An External Hardrive

Hey Everyone.

Im using a Digi 002 console board with pro tools L.E. 6.9. and i need to buy a secondary hardrive for additional storage specifially for my recorded audio. Right now Im recorded to the sysem drive which contains the operating system and all my everyday programs. Basically i need to know what hardrive brand, type, cache, RPM,ect. I want the secondary hardrive to be external that hooks to the back firewire port. Any Ideas.

This is what we've been using. It needs to be switched on before you turn the computer on. Otherwise it's been trouble free.
 
someone just posted something like this....but.....

the fastest you will get will be an internal drive, sata or ide or whatever you have.

segate 7200 rpm, 8 meg cache. if you get an external, you have no way to know what is in it unless you get it from a drive maker (maxtor, for instance, no idea what LaCie uses)

an internal drive will be faster than firewire or usb 2.0, cheaper, faster, what's not to like?
