I have an omnibook xe3 laptop. It's 850mhz laptop on which I plan on using n-track to record. I was wondering what kind of sound card I could get. I think an internal one would be out of the question. I was thinking pcmcia or usb. I guess usb might be little to slow though. Any sugguestions! I don't need anything really fancy (sb live! quality is fine) and preferably something that has four channels out or a digital out so I can get surround sound for my dvd player. THE BUILT IN SOUND CARD IS NOT CUTTING IT Please help
 
Simple.

Either get the Tascam US-428 I/O + controller (which comes with Cubasis VST 2.0 btw) or get the M Audio Delta Quatrosport usb interface. This can also take the Omni I/O device which would give you truly superb i/o specs at a relatively modest fee.
