So, I'm having some issues that just started with my MXL USB.009 condenser mic. I use either Adobe Audition or Audacity to record and it happens in either program. I'll hit record and it's fine for a second, then the waveform starts arcing, sometimes a few times. Then, after about 5 or 10 seconds, the waveform peaks out to a straight line. When you listen to the recording, there's nothing but a high pitched whistle where it peaks out.
The first part of the recording sounds fine until that peak. I have no idea what's going on here. I've tried plugging into different USB ports on the front and back of my PC. Could it be a voltage issue? Like I said, it records fine when I initially hit record. Then it gets all distorted. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
