Multi-input recording question

Is there any way that I can record from my line-in input port and my microphone port at the same time? I have a guitar hook'd in with an adapter in the line in and a mic in the other. Is there any way that I can record them both at the same time? IS there a program?

If you mean from an onboard soundcard, then very probably not. At least not as you sugest.

If you get yourself a mic pre-amp, then you can record your vocal on the left channel and your guitar on the right channel of a stereo line input. That would work.

Any program that can do multitrck would be able to do that.

Thanks for the reply. I am definaltly getting a pre amp. That is on my wish list for the holidays. I have read around here and like everyone is needing a pre-amp.
