First of all, I don't own the Mac and don't intend to ever own one. I'm trying a few things out with it, and if they don't work, that's just too bad.
That said, I installed the driver for my version of OS/X, rebooted, and plugged the MidiSport into the USB port. Nothing happened. The device doesn't even get power from the USB port. I've tried two different 4x4 boxes and two different USB cables. Both boxes work great on my XP Pro desktop PC, so I know they're not defective.
I caught a glimpse of a message during the driver install that said something to the effect of:
"Classic MIDI devices shouldn't be expected to work in OS/X. Boot into OS 9."
Well, the driver I installed was specifically for this version of OS/X. Does OS/X really not support the 4x4, and if not, why does M-Audio distribute a driver for OS/X?
