Mackie 32 8 and Focusrite Saffire 40

Hi,
I'm fairly new to this home recording and I'm using an iMac with the Saffire 40 Firewire interface and a Mackie Universal Control 8. I miss the old hands-on boards and have an option of getting a Mackie 32 8 Bus board for a great price and I'm wondering what the hookup issues might be and, if anyone has done one of these successfully. Pros and cons are most welcome, I'd like to get back into the analog "feel" on a mixer but with a digital option. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this.

Nice choice actually, decent coupling, assuming you're only using the analogue i/o's atm, just run bus 1-8 to your ins and your outs to desk on whatever channels suit use the flip to taste and if you ever get digital i/os for the saffire use 8 from bus and the remaining 12 from direct outs and boom twenty channels i/o

Welcome to the forum.
Do you get to check the board out?
I switched over to ITB' but still have the 24-8. It's held up pretty well, has a few crunchy spots but has had some ribbon cables replaced as well.
