Live Recording and Disk Drives

If any of you do live recordings on the regular, what storage medium do you use? I'm building a mobile recording kit and am looking into getting a rackmount data storage solution so that I can stop carting around my 1TB external HDD.

I'd prefer something with an SSD drive or that uses an HCSD card so that I can worry a bit less about minor bumps while I'm on the road, setting up in tiny areas with drunks wandering about. It'd be great if it were no more than 1U, as well but that's not necessarily a prerequisite.

So what do you all use? What might you suggest?
 
While it's true there may not be responses here at HRBBS.. their quality are excellent!

I do a few local gigs with the Alesis, not on the road.. but to mention the 2nd drive in the HD24.
IMO high in things to consider is back up.
