Is keeping up to date with DAWs intergral to creativity in music production?

Hi everyone,

I'm doing a research assignment for my music production degree in college, and I would really appreciate some responses to my survey I have created about the effect of updating a DAW on workflow and creativity.

It is only three questions and it's multiple choice, so it should only take a minute

Heaven's no. The only time you NEED to update your DAW is when your newest plug-in won't work...;)

Okay, problem: You've asked questions and given answer sets that would indicate they are for a statement...If I agree with the question is that a yes? What school are you going to???
 
I also have a problem: What does "music that is ahead of the curve" mean?

Also, while learning a new version of the DAW may hinder the creative process, many people complain that their creativity is hindered by having to come to grips with the DAW in the first place, i.e. it doesn't matter whether it is a new or existing version, the same problem exists.
