Hi all, i am new to the forum and recording.
Bottom line: I have a Roland RD 700GX keyboard with regular Stereo Output and Midi out and I want to record what I play (tired of using my iPad built-in mic and free apps lol ). I don't intend to build a professional studio, just want to record my keyboard and maybe record me and my girlfriend (singer) at once.
I need some advice on the Audio Interface I need to connect to my laptop. I already have a laptop with Win 7 and decent specs and will soon have to buy a mac (damn you Berklee!) so it would be preferable if it was compatible with both.
Doing some research I ran into the Roland Quad Capture ($270) and the Roland Duo-Capture EX ($200). Is the $70 difference really worth it? Any other interfaces that would be preferable?
Is that all I need? then it would be a matter of hooking up the keyboard to the interface, the interface to the laptop...set up the software and play my fingers off??
Thanks in advance for your help and patience!!
