Chances are it is not the mic that is at fault. Much more likely is a driver or other setup issue in the software. If your interface is not showing up on your computer, then the first issue to solve is with the drivers and getting your computer to recognize the interface. There could also be an issue with setting up Cubase.
The thing that is tough about digital is that *everything* has to be set up properly or you get no sound. You need to troubleshoot every stage of the signal path within your computer/software, including the drivers.
Again, you *may* have a faulty mic, but it is far more likely that you are experiencing a software related issue. You've got to take a step back, stay cool, and think through every possible problem area, then test it.
