I'm not sure if it can serve as an interface. I know it has a USB out. I know it has mic pres., and so on, but does it have the necessary A/D converters, or do I also need a separate interface? Because I do have a PreSonus FireStudio Mobile interface. So where should I place the interface? Instruments into mixer, and then mixer into interface, and interface into computer?
I just got a Allen & Heath ZED 10FX. Is it just a mixer??

The Zed 10FX has a USB output, which means it has an inbuilt interface. It will send and a receive a stereo (i.e. two channel) signal to and from your computer). Details are here: ZED-10FX | ALLEN & HEATH // WORLD CLASS MIXING
So you do not need a separate interface.
If you wanted, you could take the audio output of the Zed and send that to the Firestudio Mobile, and use that as an interface instead.
