How sync old PC to new & which soft sampler to use?

I have just bought a new music PC. It's powerful: P733, Asus mobo, two fast IBM hard drives, 128 Mb etc ….. it runs great

But I want to bring my older PC back into use. The older one is a P166MMX with 64Mb, and works just fine.

- I want to use it as a simple sampler for drums
- I want to sync it to the new PC
- I want it to run a good, usable software sampler

Any suggestions? How do I sync the two? Which software should I use?

You need to do it the other way around. Run a simple sequencer on the old computer (ie Cakewalk) and use your new one as the sampler.
Any sampling software like Unity DS1 or GigaSampler requires as big a computer as you can get in order to get the best out of it.

As for sync, you just use the computer with the sampler on as a MIDI sound module just like you would any other synth or sampler.

I hope this helps, links on my page:
