Hello,

A few weeks ago I posted about getting high quality audio out of my computer (for mp3 music). I wanted a product with line in, line out, and mic in. I found only a few that match those requirements:

-Turtle Beach Montego II ($65)
-Hoontech Sound Track Ruby ($180)
-Hoontech Digital Audio 4CH & DAC Bracket ($220)
-Onkyo SE-U33; Japan only ($??)
-Roland UA-30 ($250)
-Something else that you recommend?

The computer is an Athlon 650, on an Asus K7V, which use the VIAKX133 chipset, and the VIA USB controller. No ISA slots. I have Jamo CS-5 multimedia speakers (powered nearfield monitors).

The Turtle Beach Montego II has "known compatibility issues with the VIA chipsets" according to the Turtle Beach tech support. If worst comes to worst, I will buy and try. Any opinions?

The Onkyo product is available only in Japan. (http://mmc.onkyo.co.jp/u33e.htm ) I have searched for an international distributor, but I am unable to find one. Any advice?

Hoontech offers, from what I can see, absolutely no support on their products. I have emailed twice asking about compatibility, and have gotten no responses. Which is a shame...because it appears they make good products. I'm not gonna buy though if I don't know it will work.

Roland makes an absolutely awesome product from what I can tell...but it infers it works only on Intel USB host controllers (http://edirol.plands.com/shop/prod-page.ddp?itemcode=362166&session=68723406&cat=Hardware). I need to know if it will work with mine. Anyone have any experience? Anything else on that?

Any input is greatly appreciated. I have been researching this for a while now...and I'm still lost. Also, if you have any other resources I should check, please let me know.

Thank you soooo much.
Kurt
