Guys new to this recording shhhhh..... so I need ideas, usefull links, software anything i can get my hands on........

what kind of music do you like / want to record?
what kind of computer do you have?
do you have any other equipment like mics, preamps, etc?

Well if you have a decent computer you need software, a decent soundcard, and a microphone, and monitors/speakers/headphones.

i use cakewalk sonar for my software www.cakewalk.com
Audio-technica for my mics

check out the soundcards at www.midiman.com they have lots of worthy options.
