Help !! Audio Interface with $1000 budget.

Hi, I've recently decided to change my audio interface which was Roland UA-1000.
Please suggest me some decent audio interfaces that can produce professional sound.
I do not need too many i/o, but at least 2~4 ins and 2~4 outs.
And my budget is around $1000. Thanks guys!!

Why not stay with Roland?

OCTA-CAPTURE?: Hi-Speed USB Audio Interface | Roland UK. The "capture" range have attracted good reports.
If two mics and two line inputs will do you look at the Focusrite Scarlet 8i6 but my biggest reccy is reserved for the Native Instruments KA6.

Well, at that budget point I'd be looking at an RME Babyface or MOTU828x. Both are thoroughly professional in sound quality.

Ah yes! I had forgotten that the $ buys more over there than the £ equivalent here! But even though I know the Babyface is superb I just cannot take the dinky, dangly thing seriously!
