Has anyone used the Tascam US-2x2?

A friend asked about decent interfaces that are on the cheap side, but everything I came up with off the top of my head has been discontinued. (it's been a while since i was in the loop)

What are the good 2 channel interfaces today?
 
The focusrite Scarlett line seems to be popular. I have the 2i2 and have no complaints with it except that I can't easily balance playback vs foldback levels. The 2i4 has a blend knob. All interfaces should have a blend knob.
 
Going to bump because I would like to be notified on comments on the 2x2.

And...DID not know that about the 2i2 Mr C but then never been a fan since they ***k'ed up the HZ input design!
