Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 direct monitor

I'm trying to get a Pro 40 working in my studio and it's killing me. ive got some sequenced tracks and want to record live 12 string through a condenser mic. I don't want the mic signal in the monitor mix at all, but I think I'm hearing it twice...one with 0 latency and one with a 20 ms delay. I've got the track muted in pro tools, so it's not coming back from there. I just wrestled with it for an hour and got nowhere. Anyone?? It happens in both the headphone mix and the monitor mix.

Looks like the Saffire uses a mixer software called MixControl - there is a 'blend' control in it which allows you to select how much DI and how much DAW you hear - adjust it so you get less of the DI. The 20msec delayed sound you hear means you've got track monitoring selected in your DAW - you say you've got it muted, but muting is usually for playback of a pre-recorded track.
