firepod hiss question

Anyone out there running a firepod? I'm having a bit a hiss on playback.. I don't think it's in the tracks, I have to crank up my power amp to get a decent level for monitoring. Maybe that's my problem? Should I crank up the output on the firepod first then bring up my power amp to the desired level? I was running a Delta1010LT before and don't remember ever having to bring up my power amp to the level i have it at now, and even if i did, i don't remember ever have hiss like this. Any suggestions would be helpfull.. Thanks!
 
firepod hiss - turn it up

you need to have your main level knob turned up quite a bit going to your pwr amp. Otherwise, you are going to have noise as you are not sending the appropriate amount of line signal to your amp. turn your amp back to normal and use the knob at more than halfway for best results.. (it works for me anyhoo...)

what is the power amp in this set up? do you need a seperate power amp unit with the firepod or is your computer the amp?
