File sharing Part II - The answer....

Although I'm PC-based, I called to Roland to inquire about file sharing with a friends Roland 1824.

Was told it could be done in this manner (which is what I think j and roel were suggesting in my previous post):

I'll do a quick mix of my tracks (in SONAR) then export to wav (making sure all tracks begin at 1:01:000). Burn CD.

My friend will take the CD and load the stereo wav file into his Roland 1824. Then he will track his upright bass. Upon completion, he will export his bass track to wav and burn to CD.

I'll take his wav CD, open my existing SONAR tracks and load his wav. Mixdown and voila!

Any one see why this wouldn't work?

Thanks,

Earl

Sounds like a winner. You can even convert the submixes to MP3 and email them if he can convert and burn the file to CD himself. That's the handy way if your cross country.

Tex,

Would love to do that but he's on dial-up. :(

We see each other at least once a week so for now, we'll be swapping disks.

Thanks,

Earl

Put in the ticks anyway! You never know what could happen; and it's alot easier to sync those ticks as to sync tracks!

And yup, that was what I was telling you. ;)

Now, am I smart or what?
