this i believe is the norm for libraries of VSTs but i have a question .....

will the newly installed extra internal HD in question have any other use/benefit/function to my PC other than the intended benefit, will the extra HD space help my PC in general?

the reason for asking is would it be worth my while to install say 2TB rather than 1TB

thanks folks

Well, basically you want your OS and programs on one drive so that it doesn't have to deal with things like samples and audio files at the same time. The size of your second drive would be decided by how much you intend to store there. A larger drive will not help PC performance in general, other than the obvious saving demand on the OS drive. I myself run 2 internal drives in RAID 1, so if one drive ever fails, I have a copy. No performance enhancement. I use external drives for audio files. one backs up the other. The main benefit for me of using external, is that they are portable and can be placed in a fire safe while away from studio.
