Maybe even a newb question but (using Reaper here)...

I have an 80's era Aural Exciter in a rack. I used to use it in my old analog mixer and tape days. I've recently dug it out of retirement by chaining it between my condenser mic and Audiobox input. But that requires just the right settings during input tracking.

I would like to record dry then send it back out through the Exciter then back into my daw. The audiobox has only two inputs L/R line outs and a headphone out.Do I need a different type of interface?

I think you would need to add a small mixer to split the input/mic signal, one going directly to the audiobox (L) and the other to the Aural, then from the Aural into the R on the audiobox. (?)

Along the same lines, you *might* be able to get a slightly more robust mixer and do the chaining there, then send the outs to the audiobox. If the Aural creates stereo output effects, then all this is moot since you must send from the Aural to the L/R on the audiobox, leaving you no more inputs for a raw signal.
