Experts please help in Noise Reduction

Hi All,

I have Windows 7 , i bought a new mic MXL 4000 which is XLR , now i connect this to centrance micport pro that converts XLR to USB , it is assumed that this will kill the noise but i still have noise in the recording. can you please help me in this,

1) MIC MXL 4000 XLR ( record at candroid mode)
2) PReAMP centrance micport pro
3) Operating System : Windows 7
4) Recording software : Acid Pro 7 + Sony Forge 10
5) I have build a small Studio 7(length)X4(width)X8(height) ... all interior covered with foam ,
6) i have a sE Electronic Reflection filter + Pop up filter
7) i have the laptop inside the Studio
8) i record at night close to 3:AM in the morning
9) i set the recording volume at preamp at 75
10) i set the recording volume in laptop 75


I have the noise , experts please guide me , i have to do recording the coming long weekend.

First, try finding out what part of your chain is causing the noise. Record while the preamp is just plugged in by itself. Then add the cable, mic, and hopefully you'll be a little closer to fixing the problem.
