EMU 0404 optical input problem

I need to import DAT mixes in 44.1 into my pc. I installed an EMU 0404 card and all seems well. When I open up Wavelab Lite (which came with card) and connect a guitar directly into the input, I get a signal. But I get nothing when connecting my dat to the optical input. Has anyone had this kind of issue or having any suggestions? Thanks, Richard
 
You have to direct your recording software at the S/PDIF input (slaving the computer to the incoming clock embedded in the S/PDIF signal).

Okay, any specifics on how to do that. The documentation is... well, it's typically all over the map.

Read your manual. I'm pretty sure it'll be there as this is a common function. I've never used this program so I can't direct you specificly but look at your tool bar and find PROPERTIES. It might be there.
