Eleven Rack mic input

I want to use my SM57 through my Eleven Rack to record my guitar amp.
I am getting no sound out of the rack using the mic into the XLR input on the front.
The manual says I need ProTools to set up the mic input, if I am reading it right.

Anybody have a different solution to this?


I do not have ProTools.
My computer knowledge is minimal, and I just want to record into the DAW.
I am using Mixcraft, because ProTools is over my head.
 
What do you mean "to set up the mic input"?

I'm thinking it's just an audio interface so no matter what DAW you have you just need to set up a new track and select input 1 as the input for that track.
 
That's what I thought.
Page 17 or 19 of the manual says something about rig inputs.
Tells you to look at page 90.
Page 90 is all about accessing the rack through protools.
I just don't get it.
Works just fine if I plug into the guitar input.

Have you tried the above to change "Rig Input"? The rack can only run one source at a time.

Since inputs are under software control it is quite possible that the microphone input CANNOT be accessed unless you have Pro tools. A kludge would be to run the mic into the guitar input from a small mixer or even an XLR to TS transformer adaptor. Our very own Maplin do one quite cheaply, dare say a look at Zon would turn one up.
