Difference for audio? Single/Dual Channel RAM

I was on another RAM thread and it got me curious about something.

I'm using 2 sticks of 512 DDR333 in dual channel mode. I've got another stick of 512mb of the same that I'm not using.

Anyone know if 1 gig dual channel is faster/more efficient than 1.5 gig in single channel mode?

At least as far as audio goes.

My rig (just in case) :) :

P-4 2.8 prescott
ASUS P4C800
ATI 9200 AGP for graphics
Audiophile 2496

1 gig will be 'faster' as far as memory throughput is concerned. If you find yourself constantly paging and running out of ram, then the extra 512 would be of more benefit that maintaining dual-channel status.
If you are not running into any problems, leave it as it is. You will get a lot higher memory bandwidth (which is good for a bandwidth-starved achitecture like the P4 presc-hot) in dual-channel. Having more ram will not make your system faster unless the original amount you had was being used more than 70-80% during your normal use.
