Almost any computer sold these days will be capable of recording, but like Pinky says - "depends". How many separate tracks are you going to be recording at one time? How big will your projects be (how many total tracks, how many virtual instruments)?

Idont have any big ideas just me playing guitar n keyboards so only 1 track at a time.No big projects just really to see how it sounds bit of fun

Well there you go then. For a track or two/toying around almost anything will do.

Some virtual instruments (VSTs) use a lot of processing power and need plenty of memory to run in real time. It sounds like you want to work with synthesizers, which will all be VST based, so maybe something like a newer generation i3 or faster cpu and at least 4GB of system memory. If you have a specific set of hardware or computer in mind post it.

As a footnote, most software packages will state their minimum requirements (On the box or on the vendors website). That's always a good place to start if you want the bare minimums.

Best of luck!
