Converting USB 2.0 to eSata. Performance?

Multitrack recording-- I'm using a mixer which exports multitrack via USB 2.0. My computer has an eSata port. If I use an adapter to go USB 2.0 out into the computer with eSata, will there be any performance difference?

I assume the transfer speed wouldn't increase because the source material is still USB 2.0, but could the conversion to eSata possibly prevent any slowdown on the computer's end because it's reading through a faster port?
