CI1/Mac Issue (probably very simple)

Hey guys,

So I just bought a CI1 and installed the software on my Macbook Pro. When I go to plug the CI1 into my computer and start the program, the light on my CI1 under “USB” doesn’t turn on (in other words it is not properly plugging in / not getting any power).

When I plugged the CI1 into my PC, the computer recognized there was an outside device plugged in but still the light didn’t show up and I can’t record anything.

Am I inept? Is there something obvious I’m not doing? I’m pretty sure there’s no power switch on the CI1. Not sure if it’s the device or my Mac.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, new problem.

So I plugged my guitar in to the CI1 Mic/Line/Hi-Z input and when I went to add an Audio (live instrument) track, it just gave me a loud, high pitched feedback-type noise from my Mac speakers. I try playing around with a few things, but I think it's something Mac-related (maybe my sound input/output isn't set up right or something?).

Any ideas?
