CD burning Software, hardware

I'm starting an archiving project...maybe 100 DAT and Cassette recordings I will be transferring to CD...

I'm using MAM -A CD's...gold CD's a bit to expensive for this project...

Right now I'm using Roxio software and the CD burner is an OEM DVD burner...runs about 52x but I don't think it's going that fast...

What are your recommendations for software and DVD burner...???

For best recordings should I slow the burner down...???
Is there a better software package than Roxio...???

Hey Steve...I use "Ashampoo Burning Studio 7" and have burned over 380 cds with no problems at all.

My system is an e-machine with 1.7 gig of ram/Wxp sp3
